This Year's Project: Legion Scholarships

About Our Organization

Named after Corporal Carl Heath (killed in action during WWI), the post is an integral part of the legion family which includes The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Legion Riders.

Our post is actively involved in the community.
Our Legion Post offers scholarships for high school students, sponsors participants at Boys State and Girls State. Post 95 has sponsored high school juniors at the American Legion Junior Law Cadet Program. Our Post also participates in the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program. We sponsor and provide lunch for the annual County Government Day. We provide the Color Guard for our High School football and basketball games, and sponsor a Legion Baseball team.

The Corporal Carl Heath Post provides a Color Guard and Firing Squad for veterans’ funerals and Memorial Day Services at Curtis, Moorefield, and Stockville cemeteries. We have a Veterans Day Program at Medicine Valley High School. Post #95 is represented in the Curtis Fall Festival Parade and by invitation at other memorial events.

Our Post provides and places Christmas wreaths at the gravesite of each veteran in the Curtis, Moorefield and Stockville cemeteries

In 2014 and 2015 the Corporal Carl Heath Post 95 sponsored and built a monument to all American Veterans from Frontier County. Our communities have been honored with veterans since the Indian Wars.

We take pride in our veterans and would welcome any new members.

Current Project: Legion Scholarships

Corporal Carl Heath Post #95 Scholarships and Programs

The American Legion Corporal Carl Heath Post #95 raises money for scholarships for Medicine Valley High School seniors going on to college or trade school. Post #95 also provides funds for MVHS juniors to attend American Legion sponsored programs. These programs may include Boys State, Legion Baseball, American Legion Oratorical Contest, Junior Law Cadet Program, County Government Day, and other programs devoted to promoting good citizenship. In this past year we have obligated funds for two scholarships, an oratorical contest participant and an attendee at the Junior Law Cadet program.
