About Our Organization

TeamMates is a school based youth mentoring program started by Dr Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991. The mission of TeamMates is To positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring.  The goal of the program is to see youth graduate from high school and pursue post secondary education, trade school or military.   To reach this goal, youth meet once a week with a caring adult who serves as a mentor.  This match between a mentor and mentee can become a life long friendship.  Mentors give youth a sense of hope, purpose and vision.

Mentors come from all walks of life.  They can be young adults or retired professionals.  What they have in common is a genuine desire to positively influence young people.  Maywood Public School has been involved with Teammates for over 10 years.  In our Teammates program you don't have to be an expert in 5th grade math, you just have to BE THERE.

Our current projects are to add  to our chapter scholarship fund and quarterly events for our chapter.   We also hope to attend the Husker spring football game as a chapter.    To learn more and apply  go to www.TeamMates.org or call Maywood Public Schools 308-362-4223.  Thank You for your support!!!
